Fixed Implant-supported Prosthesis
All-on-4s and All-on-6s both are "Fixed Implant-supported Prosthesis" is a dental treatment that utilizes dental implants to support a complete dental prosthesis, replacing all the teeth in an arch (either upper or lower) of the mouth. This type of prosthesis is permanently fixed to the dental implants and cannot be removed by the patient. The treatment involves strategically placing four dental implants in the jawbone or maxilla to provide a stable foundation for the prosthesis, restoring both function and aesthetics.
This treatment is a popular choice for patients who have lost all or most of their teeth in an arch and desire a fixed and permanent solution to restore their smile and chewing function. It is important to follow proper care and maintenance recommendations to ensure long-term success of the treatment.
Appointments description
The following lines describe the procedure step by step, including appointments with the dentist for evaluation, impression taking, prosthesis fabrication, testing, and final delivery.
Pre-Treatment Virtual Consultation
During this appointment, it is required to have your Tomography to help determine the viability of the treatment by our Specialist. If you don't have it, the appointment will be rescheduled until you obtain your Tomography. Alternatively, our dental center can also offer this service upon your arrival in the city.
Appointment 1:
General Assessment with Specialist
During the initial appointment, our Specialist will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the patient's oral health. In the absence of a previous Tomography, our Dentist will issue an order to take the necessary study. Subsequently, the sites where dental implants will be placed will be determined, and the viability of implant-supported dental prosthesis will be evaluated.
Appointment 2:
Impression for Implant Guide
Once the decision to proceed with the treatment is made, an impression will be taken to fabricate a surgical guide that will assist the dentist in strategically placing the implants.
Appointment 3:
Implant Placement
Dental implants will be surgically placed either in the jaw or in the maxilla by our specialist. They will serve as support for the prosthesis that will be placed subsequently.
A healing period of approximately 6 months is required to allow the dental implants to integrate and adhere to the bone.
Appointment 4:
Impression for Prosthesis Design
After the healing period, a check will be performed to ensure that all implants are osseointegrated, and the impression will be taken to initiate the prosthesis fabrication process.
Appointment 5:
Bite and Color Selection
During this appointment, a bite record of the patient will be taken, and the desired tooth color will be selected.
After the bite and color taking, there will be a 2-day pause to allow for necessary adjustments to the prosthesis.
Appointment 6:
Prosthesis Trial
During this appointment, the prosthesis will be tested for fit, bite, and adjustments will be made as necessary. It will then be sent for finalization.
After this appointment, there will be a 3-day pause to allow the laboratory to finalize the prosthesis.
Appointment 7:
Prosthesis Delivery
During this appointment, the prosthesis will be adjusted and delivered, marking the completion of the treatment. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled 2 days later for further control.
Appointment 8:
Post-Treatment Follow-up
Finally, a post-treatment follow-up appointment will be scheduled to evaluate the outcome of the prosthesis procedure and address any concerns or necessary adjustments for patient comfort and satisfaction.
It is recommended to follow the above-mentioned detailed appointment plan to ensure a successful procedure. The patient should closely follow the dentist's instructions and adhere to the scheduled pauses and adjustments to achieve the best results.
