Muco-Supported Implant Prosthesis

The "Implant-Supported Removable Prosthesis" also know as "Muco-Supported Implant Prosthesis" is a treatment that utilizes implants to support a prosthesis designed to replace all the teeth, whether they are upper or lower. This type of prosthesis is temporarily attached to dental implants and can be removed by the patient for oral hygiene purposes. The treatment involves strategically placing implants in the upper jaw (4 implants) or in the mandible (2 or 4 implants) to provide a stable foundation for the prosthesis, restoring both functionality and aesthetics.

This treatment offers an option for patients who have lost all their teeth and seek a removable and permanent solution to restore their smile and oral function. It is crucial to adhere to the recommended care and maintenance guidelines to ensure the long-term success of the treatment.

Appointments description

The following lines describe the step-by-step procedure:

Pre-treatment Virtual Consultation
During this appointment, it is required to have your Tomography to help determine the viability of the treatment by our Specialist. If you don't have it, the appointment will be rescheduled until you obtain your Tomography. Alternatively, our dental centre can also offer this service upon your arrival in the city.

Appointment 1:
General Assessment with the Specialist

During the initial appointment, our Specialist will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the patient's oral health. In the absence of a previous Tomography, our Dentist will issue an order to have the study conducted. Subsequently, the sites where the dental implants will be placed will be determined, and the feasibility of the implant-supported dental prosthesis will be evaluated.

Appointment No. 2:
Impression for Implant Guide
Once the decision is made to proceed with the treatment, an impression will be taken to fabricate a surgical guide that will assist the dentist in strategically placing the implants.

Appointment 3:
Implant Placement
The dental implants will be surgically placed in either the jaw or the maxilla by our specialist. These implants will serve as support for the prosthesis that will be placed later on.

A healing period of approximately 6 months is required to allow the dental implants to integrate and bond with the bone.

Appointment No. 4:
Impression Taking for Prosthesis Design
After the healing period, a check will be conducted to ensure that all implants have osseointegrated, and an impression will be taken to initiate the prosthesis process.

Appointment No. 5:
Bite Selection and Color
During this appointment, a bite record will be taken from the patient, and the desired tooth color will be selected by the patient. After the bite and color selection, there will be a 2-day break to allow for necessary adjustments to the prosthesis.

During this appointment, the prosthesis will be adjusted and delivered, marking the completion of the treatment. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled 2 days later for a post-treatment check.

Appointment No. 8:
Post-Treatment Follow-up
Finally, a follow-up appointment will be scheduled after the treatment to evaluate the outcome of the prosthesis procedure and address any concerns or necessary adjustments for the patient's comfort and satisfaction.
